Alum & current parent of 11th grader, there since 6th grade. VERY happy with current Administration, especially Dr Herrington. There is so much more communication with students and parents via social media, skyward, email and calls. SAC meetings are monthly and informative. Vast majority of teachers are high quality and dedicated to their students. Orchestra is top tier, variety of athletics, clubs, music & arts too! Administration takes student/parent concerns seriously and addresses the issue. Thankful to be an active part of this school.

My experience at Lincoln Park Academy was nothing sort of memorable. My family has a long history with the school for all my older siblings have graduating and played sports at Lincoln Park. The spaces that I had the opportunity to occupy are ones that I am forever grateful for. I have met life changing teachers and meet with also life changing perspectives from the many beacons of Lincoln Park! I show immense pride and gratitude for the school and all its done and been for me and my family!

I have been going to Lincoln Park Academy since 6th grade. Overall, there is a lot of good and a lot of bad. LPA has some of the most exceptional teachers I have ever met who enhance their students' learning. However, there are also some lazy and lackadaisical ones who seem disinterested and unmotivated to teach their subjects, while some are stuck-up, egotistical, and condescending. The school lacks clubs, electives, and sports; we do not even have a football team. The school also has a massive disorganization and communication problem. The school rarely lets parents and students know ahead of time about school events so they can plan accordingly. Sometimes even the teachers are bewildered upon hearing about a school assembly that they were unaware of and thus had not taken into account in their lesson plan for that day. The administration changes plans on a whim and fails to communicate effectively. I do not think LPA is a below average school, but improvement is needed.

The school itself was a lot better during my middle school years. Since then there has been a lot more inappropriate behavior including fights and other things. Luckily i just graduated with a new principal who really did a good job with the senior class and provide a lot of activities for the class to do together to celebrate our senior year. The school is located in a not so great neighborhood so that is always a concern to think about.

Overall was a decent experience. Many of my teachers helped prepare me for college. I took several IB and Dual Enrollment courses so I was exposed to the rigors of college courses. It was very competitive amongst the students as to what classes were taken and what grades were earned. We are a very close bunch because we have been students together since seventh grade. Administration has been ok, some turnover in some of the roles.

As an IB LPA Senior, I would like to rate the IB diploma program as a highly rewarding experience. Although the testing and the workload may put off students, it differentiates who is really dedicated to becoming ready for college. I’ve developed such a strong community within my classes and I feel now that I am graduating, I will not be as troubled in University. It provides many opportunities for development, engagement, and motivation as IB students work together with peers and teachers regularly to improve.

Lincoln Park Academy is a fair school overall. The teachers are mostly dedicated to their job in helping kids to learn, and the classrooms are nicely sized. Although, I will say this school does not promote having multiple extra curricular activities, allowing you to shine in everything you do.

Overall, I have had a good experience being a student at LPA. There is a good number of teachers who are passionate about what they teacher, particularly if you take the IB program. However, it does sometimes sems as if administration and teachers are often fighting against each other, which causes school activities and resources to not flow as smoothly. The STEM classes are also immensely underfunded and do not receive much priority. The arts follow the same route, just this year we lost our AP and honors art classes for the high school. However, there is a good amount of extracurriculars and an opportunity for every student to be involved. I only wish that STEM and the arts were prioritized more, that would make LPA a solid and strong eductional facility.

It was a good experience not a great one. There’s not much done around sports atmosphere and they are missing a football team. The classes are good quality and your teachers will be a hit or miss. The counselors can be be a very good contact to keep around.

I really enjoyed middle school but high school was tough due to Covid and being in the ib program. Also with some of our teachers quitting it didn’t help. Overall it’s a good school academically.

The school sucked. The only good thing about it was my friends and teachers. Other than that, school spirit was terrible, they let us have no fun and everything we tried to do was turned down.

It's a very small campus which I like. The IB program is great and allows for a tight knit community among those students. The school is lacking some extracurricular activities however and could probably use more funding. We don't have many clubs, but the ones we do have are wonderful and well attended. The school could use so.e renovations or updates.

Lincoln Park Academy is a school that strives on educational prowess. Their sole mission is to make sure that their students are well equipped for high school and college. They do a great job selecting teachers that are familiar with their respective course subject and prioritize the education of students.

Lincoln Park is a school that could use a revamp, there is very little student involvement in all activities and could really use some help in making students ready for college. I am a senior and I have had to essentially teach myself everything I need to know. It is recently renovated so it is a clean school it just could use more spirit and culture.

I liked Lincoln Park Academy's theatre department. What I would like to see change in the school is better communication about district tests or school events. We are usually notified very late about upcoming district tests or school events that are going to occur. Other than that, I've made decent friends at LPA.

Good education but there isn’t much of a high school experience at all. Covid only made things worst but even prior to covid things weren’t the best.

It is decent, but we have a lot of fights and a lot of bullying. The teachers are decent, but some of them do not grade correctly and do not teach correctly. The kids are alright, but when someone is getting bullied, the school does nothing about it. The arts at this school on the other hand, are phenomenal. I am personally in the orchestra program, and it is amazing what the teachers can do. But unfortunately, the school puts little money into the orchestra program. Lincoln Park also has an amazing STEM program and International Baccalaureate program. Many students come here just for the IB.

Overall, Lincoln Park Academy has been able to provide a good education from middle to high school. This school and the staff care about students and the teachers want their students to succeed. However, there have been some downfalls, for example, the lack of student activities and sports. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful school.
