  Nolan makes the class sound so much more intimidating on the first day than it actually is. Law in general is a bit challenging but if you have a good note sheet and study main term that he says are gonna be essay questions you will be fine.He also curves quizzes, midterms, and the final which helps a lot.

  I am honestly baffled that this professor can possibly have such great ratings. He is not tech savvy at all, can barely reply to an email so don't even try asking him for help. He's so unnecessarily strict and even went as far as offering extra credit to anyone who catches cheaters. Takes forever to grade exams too because he "needs to investigate"

  If you actually want to learn law take this professor. You'll need to read at least 2 hours of the textbook a week and go to the lectures. Test are hard but he gives a good curve. There's no actual assignments only 2 Tests a Midterm/Final and a Paper. 10% extra credit on midterm/final if you do the outlines for the readings

  Took this as a summer course with pre-recorded lectures. Professor Nolan is a great at explaining at layman's terms and his lectures are really engaging. If given the chance, I'd recommend taking this class in-person. With that said, it's not an easy class. Read, show up to class and take good notes and you'll be fine.

  Honestly was not sure what to expect, his class is very straight forward and even though he's not very animated when he lectures you can tell he has a great deal of knowledge and experience. This class is only graded by 3 things so take that into consideration. Definitely a reliable professor and he curves the exams.

  John Nolan is a pretty laid back and his class is difficult but he curves the exams. There is a group project which sucks (I don't particularly care for them because I often have lazy group members). There are only three things he grades though so be careful.

  Professor John Nolan is the most underrated professor at UNR. Incredibly articulated knowledgable in Business Law. Now, if you want an A in his class it's tough but doable. Do the outlines 100%, they are 10 extra credit points each applied to both exams. He allows for a double-sided hand written standard size paper note sheet & they are curved

  He is very straightforward and seems like he truly wants you to learn. Study guide was pretty close to both the midterm and final. Take good notes and do EC and you shoul be fine. I recommend and would take again.

  This professor broke things down so well. This was a tough time for me due to personal health problems & I am not sure I would've made it without professor Nolan. Pretty straightforward, but test heavy. I followed review sheet and ended up with A-. I highly recommend. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

  He didn't make his class easy to navigate online, his assignments were never on the to-do list so they were easy to miss. He didn't grade anything until the very end and didn't post your final grade until the class was over. Exams/assignments were straight forward though and he knows his stuff. In-person I bet his class is way better.
